Shocking autopsy findings: Gene Hackman and his wife show no visible external injuries—mystery deepens!

Autopsies have been completed on the bodies of renowned actor Gene Hackman, his wife Betsy Arakawa, and their dog, following their unexplained deaths at their $3.8 million home in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Investigators found no external trauma on either of the victims, and while Leslie Anne Hackman, Gene’s daughter, had speculated that the couple might have died from carbon monoxide poisoning, tests by the Santa Fe City Fire Department and New Mexico Gas Company confirmed there were no hazardous substances in the house. The autopsies, finished early Thursday morning, showed no signs of foul play, and while the bodies exhibited signs of decomposition, they may have been deceased for up to two weeks before being discovered. The official toxicology and autopsy reports are still pending, and the investigation remains ongoing. Leslie, along with other family members, is struggling to comprehend the loss, as her father was in good health, practicing yoga and Pilates regularly. Mayor Alan Webber of Santa Fe praised Hackman and his wife, calling them beloved members of the community. Hackman was found in a mudroom near his cane and sunglasses, while Arakawa’s body was discovered in the bathroom with an open prescription bottle nearby. It may take several weeks for the official autopsy results to be released, but the family and authorities continue to seek answers regarding this tragic and mysterious event.
