Was clueless about this….

While research does not support the use of apple cider vinegar (ACV) as an effective treatment for dandruff, anecdotal evidence suggests it may offer some benefits for scalp health, such as maintaining pH balance, promoting the shedding of dead skin cells, and reducing fungal growth on the scalp. However, no scientific proof confirms its effectiveness for dandruff specifically.

Some studies have shown that ACV might help alleviate dry scalp, which can resemble dandruff, but the causes of each condition are different. ACV does have antimicrobial properties that could support skin health, and it may help with certain bacteria linked to dandruff. A 2022 review highlighted that while undiluted ACV has antimicrobial qualities, its effects on fungal infections, like Candida yeast, are less potent. If you wish to try ACV for scalp care, a diluted solution (two parts ACV to one part water) can be applied for 15 minutes, then rinsed with warm water twice a week. However, it’s important to consult a physician before using it topically, and discontinue use if you experience skin irritation or discomfort.
